The New Zealand Medical Association is a pan-professional medical organisation. Its members come from all disciplines within the medical profession. Medical practitioners registered in New Zealand and medical students enrolled at a New Zealand university, are eligible for membership. The key roles of the Association are: to provide advocacy on behalf of doctors and their patients and to provide support and services to members and their practices. The New Zealand Medical Association publishes the New Zealand Medical Journal fortnightly. The NZMJ is a scientific journal for the profession in New Zealand. The full text of articles less than 6 months old is available only to subscribers. Access is free to articles older than 6 months and abstracts.
